PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO ONE OF OUR HOMES!!!

Here is the Division of Wildlife's recommended practice as it relates to bear​:   

1. Close​ and lock all windows and doors when you leave the house and at night before you go to bed;
2. Keep all bird feeders high off the ground and away from deck railings;
3. Handle all food very carefully and do not leave anything out around the house, particularly in the garage;
4. Keep car doors and windows locked if you park outside and make sure that there is nothing with an odor in your vehicle.   ​

As it relates to our home(s), please close and lock all lower level and main floor windows, as well as the deck sliders when you leave the house and at bedtime. We do not have any feeders. The food guidance should take care of itself as long as no food is left outside (including in your car!!), garbage trash is taken out on a regular basis and the grill is kept clean.  

The  photos document what happened at another cabin ​nearby​ in Aspen Brook...as they say, sometimes a picture is worth 1000 words!   The family staying there was out for a hike and (needless to say) came home to a huge mess!  

Black bear sightings have become more common in and around Estes Park, including in our own neighborhood (cars and homes!!)...please be bear aware!!
